About

Daniel Perraudin is a type designer, graphic designer and lecturer from Berlin, Germany. He holds a MA in Type & Media from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, NL and has been designing typefaces for more than 15 years.

He is the co-founder and creative director of Capitale Design Studio, a studio specializing in branding, signage and editorial design based in Berlin and Vienna. His daily work in the studio helped shape a very application-oriented view on type and its requirements in the design process. This experience is the basis for every typeface.

His first typeface was first published by the legendary Font Bureau (now available through Type Network), his latest – West – by Berlin-based foundry Fontwerk. Daniel has also taught typography and type design at the University of Applied Sciences in Graz, Austria for more than 8 years.

Previously, he has worked with büro uebele, Gourdin & Müller as well as KMS Team, one of the biggest branding agencies in Germany for brands such as BMW, Porsche, Canyon Bicycles, or MAN.
