The foundations of Parka date back to Daniel’s diploma in the Information Design program at the University of Applied Sciences, Graz. In close contact with legendary H. Berthold designer Günter Gerhard Lange, it was developed into an extensive typeface family after graduation. Parka consists of six weights from Light to Black and contains small caps and true italics, as well as oldstyle, lining, and tabular numerals, as well as  accents for most Western languages.

Parka’s plain humanist sans serif design captivates at second glance with lovely details and idiosyncrasies. The characteristic feature of Parka is the alternating sweep in the curves of the lowercase letters, such as “d”, “b”, “p” and “q”, as well as the relatively angular shape of the “a”. In headline applications, its strict, strong formal language lends it expressiveness and character. In small weights, however, it takes a back seat to the balanced overall performance and presents itself as a serious, narrow serif. It is precisely this versatility that recommends it for both everyday and unusual applications, for magazines as well as for extensive corporate design tasks.
